Virginia B. "Jenny" Watkins

COLUMBIANA - Virginia B. "Jenny" Watkins, 90, of Columbiana, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at St. Mary's Alzheimers Center.

She was born April 19, 1926, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Floyd and Gladys (Warfield) Winland. In addition to her parents, Jenny was preceded in death on February 17, 1962, by her first husband, Emerson W. Kessel, whom she married August 5, 1950, and on May 1, 2012, by her second husband, Howard A. Watkins, whom she married in July of 1970. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Brown; one sister, Jeanne Beadnell; and two brothers: William and Gibby Winland.

Jenny graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1943. She was a self-employed baby-sitter and was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Kessel of East Liverpool, and Emily Betz and her husband, James, of Cape May, NJ; one son, Brian Kessel and his wife, Charlene, of Wellsville; one sister, Joyce Hopper and her husband, Ron, of Glenmoor; one sister-in-law, Gypsy Winland of Wellsville; and one brother-in-law, Sonny Beadnell of East Liverpool. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Stanley of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville, OH.
