Wanda D. Dickey

WELLSVILLE - Wanda D. Dickey, known to many as "Bayaw", 89, of Wellsville, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Adkins Care Center.

She was born November 8, 1923, in Nutter Fort, W.Va., the daughter of the late Sheridan and Martha (Stoneking) White.

Wanda graduated from Wells High School in Newell, W.Va., in 1941. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Wanda last attended the Wellsville Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include two daughters: Ann Rettos of East Liverpool, and Mary Jane Chase and her husband Jason of Wellsville; two sons: Jeff Dickey and his wife Judy of Toronto, and Patrick Dickey of Wellsville; a daughter-in-law: Linda Dickey of East Liverpool; and a son-in-law: Bruce Blazer of Wellsville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Blazer, her son Michael Dickey, her sister Aretta Enochs, and her brother Edgar White.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
