Wilda R. Salsberry

WELLSVILLE - Wilda R. Salsberry, 90, of Wellsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2017, at Calcutta Health Care Center following an extended illness.

She was born September 7, 1926, in Browder, KY, the daughter of the late Floyd and Lola (Stuart) Jackson. In addition to her parents, Wilda was preceded in death on February 14, 1993, by her husband, George E. Salsberry, whom she married October 13, 1956. Also preceding her in death were her step-son, Ronald Salsberry; three sisters: Nola Boice, Euna Camara, and Opal Wells; and two brothers: Jeff Jackson and Dalvin Jackson.

Wilda graduated from Huges-Kirk-Patrick High School in Beechmont, KY, and also from Byrds Beauty Academy in Dayton. She owned and operated her own beauty salon for forty-seven years. Wilda was a very active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and Wellsville Bible Study. She was also a member of Campground Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Pinkerton of Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren: Jason Pinkerton, Erin Freestone and her husband, Tigh, and Jeremy Pinkerton and his wife, Heather; and six great-grandchildren: Devin Pinkerton, Addyson Freestone, Zoe Freestone, Salyse Pinkerton, Kiersten Pinkerton, and Kiaira Pinkerton.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Stanley of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
