William C. Long, Sr., age 88, of Wellsville, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at East Liverpool City Hospital of East Liverpool, OH. William was born July 1, 1923 in Wellsville, OH. He is the son of the late Abraham and the late Clara (Mumford) Long. He married Elizabeth (Smith)Long on November 26, 1948.

He served in the Navy during World War II from 12/16/1942 to 01/06/1946. He was employed by Former Crucible Steel as a Merchant Mill Inspector.

He is survived by one daughter: Christine Balderson of Benwood, WV and two sons: William C. Long Jr. of Wellsville, OH, Robert A. Long of Wellsville, OH; 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Predeceased by his Wife, Elizabeth (Smith) Long, 4 Sisters and 1 Brother.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street, Wellsville, OH with Pastor Dirk Hall officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street, Wellsville, OH.
