Lisbon - William H. "Bill" Shields, 90, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1934, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Payne) Shields. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death on May 13, 2021, by his wife, Geraldine (Broughton) Shields, whom he married September 3, 1955. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Aubrianna McGonigal; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and R.W. Cline; and two half-sisters: Helen Eastham and Jackie Kimble.

Bill graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1952. He was previously employed as a conductor for the former Crucible Steel Mill until his retirement in 1982. He had also worked as a bricklayer. Bill was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was also a craftsman having made porch swings and canes. He loved classic cars and was a collector of everything.

He is survived by two daughters: Penny (Dan) Blaschak of Knoxville, OH and Kathie (Douglas) Barnhart of Wellsville; five cherished and adored grandchildren: Shane and Trachele Barnhart of Wellsville, Bill McGonigal of East Liverpool, Damien and Elizabeth Saracco of Wellsville, Devonie Saracco of Lisbon, and Ryan and Allison Blaschak of Knoxville, OH; as well as eight beloved great-grandchildren: Kendell, Mariah, Gage, Alanna Rae, Ryker, Owen, Antonio, and Alaska, with another great-granddaughter on the way.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
